"An artist's Prayer"
Jane Delcarson

    Jane Delcarson is a Graphic Artist, specializing in calligraphy and
    design. As a hobby she paints with oils or watercolor. She also
    enjoys shirring rugs.

    She graduated from the American Academy of Art in Chicago, 1953
    with an Associate degree. She graduated from George Williams
    College, Downers Grove IL, 1972 with a BA in the Social Sciences.
    Her professional experience has been in commercial art studios. As
    a lettering artist and production artist she has worked in Detroit,
    Los Angeles, San Rafael CA, Oak Brook, IL, Chicago and Fish Creek
    WI. She is also a free lance calligrapher.

    In Door County she has taught at the Clearing, the Peninsula Art
    School, and the Miller Art Museum and continues to teach private
    lessons in her home.

    Jane has been a member of the Chicago Calligraphy Collective for
    thirty years. She has studied calligraphy with internationally
    renowned instructors, both in Chicago and at international
    calligraphy conferences. She is also a member of the Wisconsin
    Calligrapher’s Guild in Madison.

    She has gleaned the knowledge for her painting from various
    instructors over the years rating Charles Vickery as her most
    inspiring teacher.

    Since moving to the Peninsula in 1989 her calligraphy, design and
    paintings have shown at Door County Art League exhibits, The
    Hardy Gallery, The Clearing, The Peninsula Art School, Miller Art
    Museum, Paint Box Gallery and various shops
    Her works have been published in Letter Arts Review, 2004, Vol.
    Nineteen, Wisconsin Calligrapher’s Guild, Calendar of Events, Fall
    2004 and Chicago Calligraphy Collective, Newsletter May 2006.

    She has been married to an artist, Richard for 52 years. Their art
