"Polly Fattens the Goose" Jeanne Whildin
|
|
Jeanne Whildin, an artist since the age of 4, lived her first life in the Chicago environs. Educated at the Art School of Illinois Wesleyan University, The School of the Art Institute and the American Academy of Art, her focus was commercial illustration and line drawings. Freelancing, teaching and lettering also reflected her interests at that time. In her second life in Door County, Jeanne has been able through her woodcarvings to rekindle with her early appreciation for the simplicity and honesty of folk art. These can be seen in private collections throughout the Midwest. Her work can now be seen at the Woodwalk Gallery in Juddville and at her home studio in Jacksonport, where she would truly love sharing the beauty of her inspiring Lake Michigan views with visitors and friends.
