Gallery of the Door County Art League

A busy season for The Gallery of the Door County Art League is anticipated this year for 30+ exhibitors who have been creating this winter and applying their talents in a wide range of mediums. The Gallery of the Door County Art League will open for the season on May 25 and hosts an Opening Wine and Cheese Reception on Saturday, May 26 from 3:00 until 5:00 pm.

The Gallery is open daily from 10-5 in the rear courtyard at the Top of the Hill Shops in Fish Creek, Wisconsin. From original paintings in watercolors, oils, and acrylics to drawing and pastels, beautiful two dimensional work is displayed. Photography, jewelry and figurative sculpture in clay insure something for everyone. Prints of originals and note cards of Door County scenes are also available. You’ll find the perfect gift or an item to grace your home. Come to browse, talk to a resident artist, watch demonstrations or choose a work of art to purchase.

The 2012 Gallery season exhibits through October 14. In addition to wine and cheese receptions on Saturdays May 26 and July 21, there will be other special events scheduled at this Top of the Hill Shops Gallery.

Selected “Artists of the Week” will be featured with news releases and additional displays of work. In 2012 DCAL Master Artists will again exhibit at the gallery. Last year works of Masters including Ed Fenendael, Franne Dickinson, David and Jeanne Aurelius, Margaret Lockwood and Emmett Johns were showcased.

A limited number of slots for two-dimensional art work are currently available in The Gallery of the Door County Art League for the 2012 season. Each artist displays in a 4’ x 8’ space and participates in the cooperative gallery by working 5-6 daily shifts throughout the season. The gallery fee for participating artists is $150 for the season which includes a $50 non-refundable deposit. Artists make a 20% donation for work sold.
