I’m not very interested in reality, if I were, I’d probably be a photographer. As it is, I am a painter; at least today I am, I do not know what I’ll be tomorrow. While I am not completely self-taught, I am self-thought. As for my mission as an artist, I would say it is to provoke thought through color, form and movement, challenge the mind to see something beyond a still life or landscape painting.

The Universe of Mind No longer breathe only with the atmosphere surrounding you, but let your mind breathe in a similar way with the mind that runs through everything. For the power of mind is as universal and pervasive to the person willing to draw it in, as is the power of air to the person able to breathe.

Marcus Aurelius

I have had no formal training as an artist, much of what has allowed me to succeed in my life’s endeavors has come to me through the air I have breathed. I’ve always had varying degrees of creative talent throughout my life, but used it very little outside of industry. The death of a loved one inspired me to act upon whatever artistic talent I still had left in me. She is my muse in spirit and is with me daily. The Clearing in Ellison Bay provided me with the stimulus I needed in the form of classes taught by Jan Forkert and Marianne Diekman. From whimsy to whatever and all things in between. The inspiration comes from my soul and where it leads me I do not know, but I will follow.
